runnin' down a dream.

25 year old Hoosier, chasing a wagon or something like that.
I wish I didn't know so much about running injuries.
I like to run and pretend to do crossfit and cook and go on adventures.

As evidenced by many photos from last night, Shortmom’s feet are very small.

JBizz decided to make faces at the dinner on the porch crew instead of joining us.

Carolyn and Anna made us s’mores on the grill!

  • I clicked that heart hard! Broke the screen on my phone and shit.

Crossfit makes you really strong and awesome at jumping up and down and yelling at strangers in the rain.

“You’re losing the wet t-shirt contest!”

Tennessee, we are in you!

So attractive, I know.
Shortmom can design my workout any day—lady does not play around.

50-40-39-20-10 squats, situps, hand release pushups (23:37)

Those pushups were rough. I’ve definitely been slacking on upper body work recently, and I could really tell with this workout. But hey, if I can get guns like Shortmom, all of the pushups are worth it! Thanks for a great workout!

Happy birthday to one fantastic lady! [Sorry I have terrible Paint skillz.]

Won’t you join me in donating here to help her raise money for the American Cancer Society? You’ve got until the end of today to get entries for the Garmin 410 Raffle! (Or $200 in Amazon bucks)! Every $5 earns you an entry!

A) Sorry for posting the photo that I posted TEN HOURS AGO twice…I obviously need to find a better Tumblr app. For those that asked, I got the HTC Vivid and I’m in love with the design and the graphics. And it has talk-to-text, which was the main reason I was once interested in an iPhone!

B) WOD:

2 rounds: 17:04

35 squats

35 knees-to-elbows

35 pushups

35 squats

35 situps

35 lunges

35 pushups

35 squats

For the second round I did the first set of squats as 35 single-legged squats per leg, and I added the pushups because I wanted to get some arm work in.

I also listened to a very wise woman and did all of the lunges with 10 pound weights; I’m hoping to invest in some heavier weights soon.

Now I guess I should get a little bit of work done before I peace out of Indiana to hang out with the only boy who will ever be allowed to call me “babydoll” [because he does it ironically] and a bunch of other awesome people!

Cincinnati Flying Pig 2012!

Pump and I got up early to go meet Anna and cheer her on during the race. Thanks to technology, she actually found us on her way out to start the race and came over to say before she crossed the starting line. When we went to cheer for her around mile 5.5, we saw a guy juggling as he ran, which made me think of Gill.

We couldn’t find Anna because there was a very large crowd and lots of people wearing purple, but we did see several interesting costumes. Lots of tutus and pig ears!

We headed back to the “Finish Swine” to catch Anna there, but the crowd was pretty big so we watched from the bridge above the finish area until a security guard made us leave because people aren’t supposed to stand on the bridge. I just had to go and say how now it was to see from there…

Anyway, we ended up back in the main crowd and were able to catch sight of Anna as she came in with a strong finish. Now the fun begins: the second photo is just a glimpse at the madness that was the finishing area. We walked all over US Bank Arena trying to find Anna, and luckily through text messaging we were finally able to locate her. She is just as sweet and Southern sounding as you would expect! :) Despite all three of us having no idea where we were going, we managed to get her back to where her dad picked her up.

Next time: Shortmom, we will plan ahead! OR join in the fun :)

Also, I’m pretty sure the whole Internet should come run the Indy Mini next year and then run Flying Pig the next day (or be an epic cheer squad, whichever.) Say yes? :)
